Freedom
"Consider how very fortunate we are to be living in this land of America. The destiny of this country was forged long before the earth was even created. This choice land was set apart by God to become a cradle of freedom. Men of unflinching courage established this nation and under the Gods guiding hand provided a Constitution, guaranteeing freedom to everyone of its citizens."- Ezra Taft Benson
We are so blessed to live in America the "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave". I think back to my 20 years of life and reflect on how blessed I have been for being born in the USA. It is so nice to be able to walk out side and not worry at all cause we live in such a safe country.
One of the most important freedoms we enjoy today is, the freedom of religion. Being able to as The 11th Article of Faith states "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may." I think that it is one of the best freedoms to be able to worship God the way that we want to.
I love being an American and a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints.

Elder Rose!! I get frustrated with the politics sometimes but the fact is-- you are right! This country was built upon the premise of separation of Church and State meaning that the state can not dictate what our church or religious beliefs are. We talked about this principle in sacrament meeting today-- we are so blessed to not have to hide our faith or worship in secret. Yeah for the USA!!
ReplyDeleteI am grateful to be an American, and I know we have a great responsiblity to set an example to the world, of what can happen when we live a righteous life, living a life that blesses others, what can happen if everyone in the USofA would do at least one kind act everyday, to bless the life of someone else, it's hard to fathom what would happen, because of the law of the harvest, this Nation will continue to be great because we do great things.
ReplyDeleteKeep blessing the lives of others Elder, neat to "see" your experiences.

We too are so grateful to live in this great land. Free to choose. Free to travel. Free worship the way that we choose. Grateful for those who have died for these freedoms and for those who continue to fight today for them. Also grateful for the gospel and all the truths that it teaches us about our great land. Grateful for the wonder men and women who take time out of there lives to teach this to others.
