Big Picture

"The things we hope for lead us to faith, while the things we hope in lead us to charity. The three qualities—faith, hope, and charity (see Moroni 10:20)—working together, grounded on the truth and light of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, lead us to abound in good works (see Alma 7:24)."- Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I love this quote because if we have faith, hope and charity, we will be able to manage our way through the tying times in our lives and in the lives of those around us. It is such a nice thing to have someone you know who has these three attributes. They always are looking for the good in the situation and trying to figure it out how to best help those around them.

I know in my life I have had people that were looking with an "Eternal Perspective" and they are able to see the good in there lives that will come from it. I am working on that so I will be able to see the big picture and see where it falls in to place.

And as the scriptures say we need to pray and ask for faith, hope and charity. So I would encourage you to ask for more faith, hope and charity, so you can see the big picture and be "grounded in the truth" and "abound in good works."

Choices

"You live in a time of great challenges and opportunities. As spirit sons of heavenly parents, you are free to make the right choices. This requires hard work, self-discipline, and an optimistic outlook, which will bring joy and freedom into your life now and in the future."- Dieter F. Uchtdorf

This quote is awesome, because it dose take a lot to make the right choice. It seems like in my life that the choices that are the hardest to decided, are the ones that take the most effort. I have done a lot of prayer, asking for help and trying my best to really listen so I know how I can make the decisions I need to make. It is hard because you have all sorts of influences good and bad that are helping you as well as hindering you, so we need to do our best to make the right choices. I know that as we prayerfully ask for help in the big decision that we need to make and put forth effort to work and make the right choice because it will affect the rest of your life.

Knowing God

“In our time the belief that science and technology can solve all of mankind’s problems has become a theocracy. I would despair if I thought our eternal salvation depended on scientific, technical, or secular knowledge separate from righteousness and the word of God. The word of God as spoken by His prophets through the centuries justifies no other conclusion.”- James E. Faust
I really like this quote by Elder Faust, it is so true. If we trusted science and technology to tell us the things of God we would be lost! It really is studying the scriptures that teach us the things of God. I know that as I have study the scriptures and really putting trust in the words on the pages, I have come to know more about God then I ever thought possible. I have come to know that God loves each and everyone of us. I can see his love and kindness in the scriptures and just in how his hand is in my life guiding me through the wilderness of the world. I know that he loves us and will help us if we ask.

Fathers

"We are all in the process of becoming who we will one day be. Fathers and sons can play a critical role in helping each other become the best that they can be."- M. Russell Ballard
I know this in my own life that my father has help me in more ways then I think he or myself realize. I just think back to all of the times that he has helped me do things. Most of the time he would show me how and then would say okay you do it. And I am so thankful for all that he does for me and for the example of him and my two wonderful grandfathers they defiantly have had a great influence on me and the man I am trying to become. I know that it is not all going to come in an instance but through time.
Please leave your comments about your own fathers and how they have helped you out in your life.

HE LIVES!

Service

"Work is an antidote for anxiety, an ointment for sorrow, and a doorway to possibility. Whatever our circumstances in life, my dear brethren, let us do the best we can and cultivate a reputation for excellence in all that we do. Let us set our minds and bodies to the glorious opportunity for work that each new day presents."- Dieter F. Uchtdorf
This profound statement, is true. Working, staying busy and being anxiously engaged in a good cause, will help us overcome the trouble we are facing. I know that when I am down, if I go and serve my friends or my family it seems to make the day go by faster and you forget your troubles.
The scriptures say "He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."-Matt 10:39 This is one of my favorite scriptures because it lets us know that if we are worried about ourselves we lose our life. But if we serve others and be Christ like we will find our lives in Christ.

Preisthood

"Priesthood is the power by which all things were created, God has entrusted man with a portion of it."- N. Eldon Tanner
The priesthood is an amazing thing. Knowing that the power of God is on the earth is such a blessing. The priesthood is how god works through his ordained servants, to bless others. I am so thankful to be one of the many who hold this power. It is humbling to think that our Heavenly Father trust us to have the power to bless his children. I know that this power is back on the earth to perform miracles just as in times past.

Talents

"Talents, like oil, is discovered in unexpected places and in surprising quantities."- A.A. Stambaugh.
I really like this quote cause it just made me realize that all of us have talents. The hard part is to find them. And after we find them we need to use them to help those around us, so that they ca find there hidden talents.

I love the parable in the Bible about the talents Found in Matt 25:14-30 I know that it was talking about money but we can relate it to our lives in the talents the lord has given us. And as we go and share our talents with those around us we find that we have even more talents. On the other hand if we are selfish and try to keep our talents hidden we will not gain any more.
So I would invite you to find those talents even though they maybe hidden. And as you find them and use them to help those around you will as the scriptures say " Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord" Matt 25:23
This promise is amazing to know that as we are faithful over our lives, families, talents then we will be given even more. I know that this is true and I know that as we keep the commandments we will be blessed.

Love At Home

“We can begin to become more diligent and concerned at home by telling the people we love that we love them. Such expressions do not need to be flowery or lengthy. We simply should sincerely and frequently express love.”- David A. Bednar

I really think that our lives and our family relationships would be helped out so much as we strive to tell the people we love(namely our family members) that we love them. I know that as I have been out on my mission I have learned how much my family really does mean to me.

I know that as a member of the church our families are blessed. And as we live the gospel of Jesus Christ, we can live with our family forever.

The Atonement

“There is no greater evidence of the infinite power and perfection of God’s love than is declared by the Apostle John: ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son’ (John 3:16). Another Apostle wrote that God ‘spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all’ (Romans 8:32). Think how it must have grieved our Heavenly Father to send His Son to endure incomprehensible suffering for our sins. That is the greatest evidence of His love for each of us!”-Dallin H. Oaks.

I really like this quote, it lets me know that our Father in Heaven loves us so much that we can't even imagine. There is a scripture in the New Testament that illustrates how good our Heavenly Father is to us.

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"(Matt 7:11) He gave us his Son do that we would be able to return to him.

Two Hands

This a story that I found and it is really profound, It is about our savior. "While walking in in the sand one day I tripped and fell and while I lay two hands reached out to lift me high. One hand was moist, the other dry. One hand was tattered, worn, and abused. The other hand soft, smooth and unused. I knew not which hand to take in mine to lift me up and guide me through time. For one hand would lead me back home to God, the other away from the iron rod. Cautiously I picked the tattered, torn hand it lifted me up and again I could stand. I knew then I'd picked the Lord's helping hand, for Satan would've left me there in the sand. I wondered why His hand was so worn and abused and then I remembered how much it was used." -Kara Bishop I read this and was thinking how many times has the Lord reached out his hand to us? I know he has for me and I know that he will for you if you ask and remember who can bring you back to God.

Return

So I am kinda on a quote kick. So I found this one about love.
"Instead of allowing yourself to be unhappy, just let your love grow,as God wants it to grow. Seek goodness in others. Love others unselfishly, without thought of return. The return, never fear, will take care of itself."(Henery Drummond)I really like that because I know that in my own life I need to learn to love just as Christ loves. His love is pure and unconditional. I fell that if we all tried to love as Christ loved then we would never expect anything in return.
